Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 2025. This policy sets out what you may and may not do with the Montu platform.
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Montu platform and all related services operated by Heracleon (Single Person LLC) ("Montu", "we", "us"). By using Montu, you agree to comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms of Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy.
2. Permitted Uses
You may use Montu to: • Generate marketing content (articles, product descriptions, social posts, ad briefs, design assets) for websites and brands you own or are authorised to manage. • Publish generated content to websites, CMS platforms, and social media accounts you own or control. • Run keyword research, site audits, and competitor analysis on your own domains or domains for which you have a legitimate client relationship. • Automate content publishing on a schedule you configure, within the limits of your subscription plan.
3. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Montu to: (a) Generate or distribute spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or bulk email to recipients who have not given explicit consent to receive communications from you. (b) Harvest, scrape, or collect email addresses or other personal data from third-party websites without the consent of those website owners and the individuals concerned, or in violation of applicable data protection law (including GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL, or equivalent regulations). (c) Generate content that is defamatory, fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, or likely to deceive consumers in violation of applicable advertising laws or platform policies. (d) Generate content that violates third-party intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, or trade secrets. (e) Create or distribute content that is illegal, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or otherwise harmful under applicable law. (f) Publish content to platforms (CMS, social media, ad networks) in violation of those platforms' terms of service. (g) Use the platform to generate fake reviews, testimonials, or ratings for any product or service. (h) Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Montu platform or its automation systems to third parties without our written consent. (i) Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, extract prompts, or replicate our underlying automation systems, pipelines, or workflows. (j) Use the platform in any way that violates applicable law, including consumer protection law, advertising regulations, anti-spam law, or data protection regulations.
4. Email and Outreach Features
If you use any email-related features within Montu (including email campaign generation or email-based outreach tools): • You must only send communications to recipients who have given prior, explicit consent to receive messages from your brand. • You must include a clear and functional unsubscribe mechanism in every message. • You must identify yourself as the sender accurately and not use misleading subject lines. • You must comply with CAN-SPAM (US), GDPR (EU/EEA), CASL (Canada), and all other applicable anti-spam and data protection laws. Using Montu to send unsolicited bulk email or to facilitate spam campaigns is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
5. Content Standards
All content generated through Montu and published to your platforms remains your responsibility. You agree that you will not use Montu to produce or publish: • Misleading, false, or deceptive claims about products, services, or outcomes. • Content that misrepresents the identity of any person or organisation. • Health, financial, or legal advice content that could cause harm if acted upon without professional consultation, unless you are a qualified professional. • Content targeting children in ways that are prohibited by applicable law (including COPPA in the US).
6. Connected Accounts and Third-Party Platforms
When you connect third-party platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others), you are responsible for ensuring that your use of Montu complies with those platforms' own terms of service, community standards, and advertising policies. Montu is not responsible for suspensions, bans, or penalties imposed by third-party platforms as a result of content published on your behalf.
7. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. If we determine that a violation has occurred or is likely to occur, we may: • Issue a warning and require immediate corrective action. • Suspend your account temporarily pending investigation. • Terminate your account permanently without refund. • Report unlawful activity to appropriate law enforcement or regulatory authorities. We may also terminate accounts whose actions, even if not explicitly listed here, are determined to be harmful to our platform, our other clients, or third parties.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any misuse of the Montu platform by another user, or if you identify content generated through Montu that violates this AUP, please report it to us at contact@montuai.com with as much detail as possible.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to your registered address at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
