Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026. Short version: an essential session cookie, plus three measurement tags — Google Analytics, a Meta advertising pixel, and a 30-day referral cookie.
The short version
Montu sets a secure, HTTP-only session cookie that keeps you logged in to your dashboard. On top of that we load three third-party measurement tags on every page, including the dashboard: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid); the Meta pixel (_fbp, _fbc), to measure which advertising brought a visitor; and Affonso, a referral cookie that credits a partner who referred you for 30 days. They load without a prior consent prompt today. Blocking them in your browser or with an ad blocker does not affect how Montu works.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file stored in your browser by a website. Cookies can be used to remember you between visits, store preferences, or track your behaviour across multiple sites. At Montu, we only use cookies for the first purpose: remembering that you are logged in.
The cookie we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token | Keeps you authenticated in the dashboard. Without it, you would need to log in on every page load. | Strictly necessary, HTTP-only, Secure | 14 days (or when you sign out) |
| _ga, _ga_*, _gid | Google Analytics — distinguishes visitors and sessions to measure site usage. | Analytics (Google Analytics) | Up to 13 months (_ga, _ga_*); 24 hours (_gid) |
Cookies we do NOT use
- ×Any advertising network other than Meta — no Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn or X tags
- ×Hotjar, FullStory, or any session-recording tool
- ×Intercom, Crisp, or any live-chat widget
- ×Fingerprinting, data brokers, or selling or sharing your personal data
- ×Your site data, keywords, generated content or connected-store credentials inside any advertising or analytics tag
Third-party cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure page views, referrer, device type, and site usage. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga, _ga_*, _gid) in your browser; data is processed under Google's Privacy Policy. We also use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to measure aggregate page performance — these are cookieless and do not collect personally identifiable information. We load the Meta pixel to measure which advertising brought a visitor to the site. It sets Meta's own cookies (_fbp, _fbc) and, for a signed-in visitor, sends a hashed account identifier so that the browser event and the matching server-side Conversions API event are counted once rather than twice. It never receives your site data, keywords, generated content or store credentials. We load Affonso, our partner-program pixel. It reads a ?ref= parameter from the landing URL and stores a referral cookie for 30 days, so a partner who referred you is credited at checkout. All three load on every page, including the dashboard, and they load without a prior consent prompt today. Blocking them changes nothing about how Montu works. When you complete a payment via Dodo Payments, Dodo may set their own cookies governed by Dodo Payments' Privacy Policy. These cookies are set by Dodo's domain and are not under our control. The same applies to any social platform you authorize Montu to publish to (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok) — those platforms operate cookies under their own privacy policies, but they are not set by montuai.com.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. If you delete or block the session cookie, you will be logged out of your Montu dashboard and will need to sign in again. All major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) allow you to view and delete cookies from the browser settings menu.
Changes to this policy
If we add, remove or change a cookie or a measurement tag, we will update this policy and notify active clients by email before the change takes effect.
